NOTICE OF FLOODPLAIN PERMIT APPLICATIONCASCADE COUNTY, MONTANAThe Cascade County Floodplain Administrator is in receipt of a Floodplain Permit Application (FP 2021-018) submitted by WWC Engineering, on behalf of the City of Great Falls to provide bank stabilization to prevent erosion and damage to the Rivers Edge Trail system, as well as prevent erosion from uncovering and threating the City of Great Falls sanitary sewer main within the Special Flood Hazard Area of the Missouri River. The project site is legally described as being located within Lot 2 of Section 1, Township 20 North, Range 03 East, P.M.M., within Zone AE of FEMA’s designated floodplain as shown on FIRM Panel #30013C0345E.
Adjacent landowners and other interested parties have fifteen (15) days from the receipt, or the publishing of this notice, to submit comments concerning this proposal to the office of the Cascade County Floodplain Administrator located at 121 4th St N, Suite 2 H/I, Great Falls, MT 59401, or by email at [email protected] Additional information can be obtained at the office or by calling 406-454-6905. This application is reviewed for conformance with floodplain regulations only and any other permits or approvals that may be required are the responsibility of the applicant and the appropriate agency.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR FLOODPLAINVARIANCE APPLICATION
NOTICE IS HEREBY given that the Cascade County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 9:30 in Room 105 of the Courthouse Annex located at 325 2nd Ave N, Great Falls, MT 59401, and via Zoom (an online platform). The Board will consider a Floodplain Variance Application in reference to Floodplain Permit Application #2022-005 submitted by Greg & Elizabeth Mackenstadt. The Applicant is requesting a variance from Section 9.3(1) which requires the lowest floor elevation (including basement) to be two (2) feet above the Base Flood Elevation in order to enclose the bottom level of a residential structure. The proposed residential structure is in FEMA’s designated Floodplain Zone AE as shown on FIRM Panel #30013C0626E and within the Amended Eaton Suburban Addition in Section 10, Township 20 North, Range 04 East, in Cascade County, MT.
