Why Should I Care About Wellness?
The leading causes of morbidity, mortality, and disability in the United States are heart disease, cancer, and stroke. These chronic diseases have well known behavioral, social, and environmental risk factors and can be prevented on a large scale.
Why Have Wellness at the Worksite?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that at least 50% of individual health status and associated health care costs are directly related to lifestyle choices. By incorporating wellness into the worksite, employers have discovered ways to decrease soaring health care costs and lost productivity. Health promotion is good for employees and good for business.
