Responsibilities
The Cascade County Planning & G.I.S. Department is responsible for the administration and/or enforcement of the County's:
- Building for Lease or Rent Regulations
- Zoning Regulations
- Floodplain Regulations
- Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program
- Growth Policy
- Subdivision Regulations
- Community Decay Ordinance
- Junk Vehicle Removal Program
- Litter Ordinance
- Tax Abatement Ordinance
- E911 Address Assignments
- County Road Establishment, Alterations, and Abandonments
- Discontinuation of County Streets and Alleys in Unincorporated Towns/Townsites
- Creations of Rural Special Improvement Districts
- Acting Secretary for the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
Planning & Development
If you plan on building or developing land in Cascade County but outside the City of Great Falls, the incorporated towns of Belt, Cascade, or Neihart, please contact this office concerning any applications and regulations that may need to be adhered to prior to any development work.
