Solid Waste Services

Solid Waste permits are honored at the Montana Waste Systems Landfill. At any site, each $2 charge or portion thereof is equal to one punch. The recycling programs that are run at these sites will be according to county policies and regulations, and not the district policy.  You will receive a solid waste permit through the mail, in December and June, if you are a Cascade County resident and are living outside an incorporated city and if there is a residence on the property.  Solid waste fees are not assessed to vacant land.  You may purchase additional punches at either the Clerk & Recorders' Office (121 4th Street North - Suite 1B-1) or at the Elections Office (325 2nd Ave North).  Both offices are open from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday thru Friday.  Out of county residents may also purchase permits at either of the two locations.

IF YOU RECIEVE CURB SIDE SERVICE FROM WASTE MANAGEMENT AND DO NOT USE 26 OF THE PUNCHES, YOU MAY TURN THAT INTO MONTANA WASTE MANAGEMENT ALONG WITH YOUR MONTHLY BILL AND RECEIVE A $35 CREDIT TO YOUR ACCOUNT.  THIS MUST BE DONE DURING THE PERIOD THAT THE CARD IS VALID.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM TO THE CLERK & RECORDERS' OFFICE.

District card holders at the County-owned sites who separate site approved recyclable items from their refuse will not be charged a punch when recycling.

The staffed Rural Collection Sites are open to Cascade County Solid Waste District members and special permit holders during the following hours of operations. These sites are for household waste only.
